- Tests created from SmartTest are beautifully presented, save paper, can be actively aligned, and are not misaligned.
- Does SmartTest allow online testing?
- Yes, SmartTest has an online version for schools and teachers who want students to take online tests.
- Does SmartTest collect or sell my exams or student data?
- No. Your exams, questions, candidate lists, answers and scores belong to you. We do not sell, rent or trade this data to anyone, and we do not give the questions you write to other users unless you share them yourself. This commitment is part of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Does SmartTest Offline upload my question bank to the Internet?
- No. Your question bank and exams are stored in a folder you choose on your computer. The software only goes online to register and check your license (it sends your registered email) and to download updates. It sends no usage statistics, no error reports and none of your files.
- Where does SmartTest Exam store exam data, and does an exam need the Internet?
- All exams, candidate lists, answers and scores are stored on the computer running SmartTest Server at your school. Candidate computers only connect to SmartTest Server over your local network, so exams run normally with no Internet connection.
- Why does SmartTest software connect to the Internet at all?
- Only to activate and check your license and to download updates (bug fixes and security patches). SmartTest Exam also sends usage statistics and error reports so we can fix problems: counts and error messages with personal details removed, never exam content or candidate information. The full list is in section 4 of our Privacy Policy.
- Can I turn off data sending or use the software fully offline?
- Yes. In SmartTest Server, open the organization settings and untick the option to send anonymous usage data; candidate computers then stop sending error reports too. You can also block the Internet entirely: the software keeps working, you just won't receive automatic updates, and SmartTest Exam is activated with a .lic license file.
- Can anyone else see the data I put on SmartTest Online?
- Only you and the people you choose to share with. The website uses encrypted HTTPS connections and no advertising cookies or third-party analytics or advertising tools. You can ask us to export or delete your data at any time by emailing [email protected].
